Larry Hill is Supervisor of Security for the Memphis City Schools. He is presently President of the National Association of School Safety and Law Enforcement Officers: an organization of over 800 members and the oldest organization of its type. He has served the Memphis City Schools for over 25 years and was instrumental in bringing the system into the forefront of technology. A former Memphis police officer where he worked in traffic, the patrol unit, investigative services, and was tactical trained. While on the force he was privileged to be a member of the National Police Championship pistol team. He was also the recipient of the Medal of Merit for life saving and the Purple Heart for wounded on duty. He received his B.A. from the University of Memphis and has pursued his Master in later years. He is active in local government serving as an officer on the Memphis Shelby County Local Emergency Planning Committee and an adviser for the Mayor of Bartlett, the town where he lives. He was invited to attend the White House Summit on school violence by President Bush and works with the Security Chiefs of the 50 largest U.S. cities through the U.S. Department of Education. He’s married with five kids and tries to spend as much time as possible with his family.
